Pennsylvania – A Historical Corner Photo
Renowned photographer Frederick De Bourg-Richards took some of the oldest photographs ever taken in Pennsylvania. However, this shot of a Philadelphia intersection was taken in 1850. The same corner still looks beautiful today, despite the passage of time.
The photographer sought to capture some of the enchantment that moved through the historic structures at Second and Chestnut streets, and he succeeded. One of the properties was owned by John McAllister, who was quite well-known in the community at the time.
