The rules of love were completely rewritten when everyone started getting cell phones and texting became popular. A shy teen suitor no longer feared calling a pretty girl’s house and having her father answer the phone. He could bypass the prying parental units and have direct – and less embarrassing – access to the object of his affection. It is hard to remember how awkward and brutal flirting was and amazing that couples successfully got together before texting came along to make courting easier. It’s likely your parents and grandparents found love using one of these ways people flirted in the past.
#1: Passing Notes in Class
Notes, written in cursive handwriting on notebook paper and folded into Origami-like creations, were the preferred way to communicate with your crush during the school day. Note-passing techniques were the same in every school.
