#1: The “Three-Martini Lunch”
Business luncheons were social affairs, full of laughter and a few too many cocktails. The three-martini lunch was more than just a meal, it was a way to create friendships and close deals. In the present, the idea of such excess might be concerning in a society that favors green smoothies and virtual presentations. At the time, President Gerald Ford even called it “the epitome of American liberty.”
