The work scene has changed a lot since the 60s. Some of those changes make sense, but some make us think about simpler times when work-life balance seemed like a goal easier to achieve. Here, we’ll look back at some workplace customs from the past that we wish would return.

#1: The “Three-Martini Lunch” 

Business luncheons were social affairs, full of laughter and a few too many cocktails. The three-martini lunch was more than just a meal, it was a way to create friendships and close deals. In the present, the idea of such excess might be concerning in a society that favors green smoothies and virtual presentations. At the time, President Gerald Ford even called it “the epitome of American liberty.”
