#5: Bottle Openers
You probably remember the old “church key” opener, the simple metal tool you needed to punch a ho*le in a can of beer or soda. After Prohibition ended in 1933, canned beer became common, and so did the openers. Companies put their logos on them, turning a basic tool into an advertising freebie. They came in all shapes and sizes, from flat ones that lived in a kitchen drawer to heavy, wall-mounted openers in the garage. Collecting them was a simple pleasure, a small piece of branding history you could hold.
