#6: “Cum On Feel the Noize” by Slade – Quiet Riot (1983)
Slade kicked things off in 1973 with a rowdy UK No. 1, but Quiet Riot cranked it up in 1983 and turned it into a U.S. breakthrough. Their version hit No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 and helped “Metal Health” top the Billboard 200, a first for heavy metal. Same song, bigger bite, and suddenly the genre had a seat at the mainstream table.
