#3: Dorian Leigh
One of the very first to be called a “supermodel,” Dorian Leigh had a career that helped create the mold. Born in 1917, she was already a little older when she hit her peak in the late 1940s and 1950s, but her expressive face was a favorite of photographer Richard Avedon. She was everywhere, most famously as the face of Revlon’s “Fire and Ice” campaign.
