This Plane Wouldn’t Be Able To Stay In The Sky For Long
An airplane’s goal is to transport a person or a group of people across a large distance in less time than a car or walking would allow. However, in order to be considered effective, the plane should presumably stay in the air for more than three minutes.
Me 163 Messerschmitt The Komet, a rocket-powered aircraft developed in Germany to intercept enemy planes, was quick and effective, but it could only stay in the air for as long as a modern-day television commercial break! This necessitated continuous refueling during missions to defend military bases, which resulted in gasoline leaks as a result of the aircraft’s harsh landings. Worse, the plane’s testing resulted in a number of deaths.
