Sold Out!
The people of the United Kingdom were introduced to Susan Boyle through their televisions and computers, and during the Britain’s Got Talent tour in 2009, crowds had the opportunity to see the superstar perform in person for the first time (via Daily Mail). Boyle had not gone on tour as the headlining act prior to 2013, and it is possible that she should have started hitting the road earlier. Boyle’s first tour, which was a seven-show run across the United Kingdom, resulted in record-breaking ticket sales, with most venues selling almost all of their available seats in pre-sale sales alone.
According to The Scotsman, eager concert goers had purchased approximately 98 percent of the available tickets in a matter of hours after they went on sale. Boyle’s concerts in Glasgow and Edinburgh were reported to have “just a handful” of tickets remaining for sale, and the organizers of the tour warned that the remaining tickets would be sold in just a few hours’ time. Boyle’s spokeswoman told The Scotsman that the phenomenal singer, who had shot to fame four years earlier, was “really looking forward” to her first solo tour. Boyle’s fame had only recently begun to spread. “This tour is her way of thanking the Scottish public for their support since Britain’s Got Talent,” the spokeswoman said. “She is very excited to share her music with everyone in Scotland.” “They have exceeded all expectations.”
