The Desire To Give Up On A Dream
According to The Sunday Times, Susan Boyle’s life took a different path after she began providing senior care for her mother, Bridget, when Bridget was in her later years. Boyle became her mother’s primary caregiver in spite of the fact that she came from a large family and had many siblings. Her father had passed away many years earlier. However, her duties toward her mother did not prevent her from delivering a performance.
Boyle participated in church choirs and was a karaoke performer. She and her mother also made it a habit to watch Britain’s Got Talent together, and Boyle’s mother, Bridget, was constantly encouraging her daughter to try out for the show. Boyle’s mother is now a judge on the show. Boyle’s feelings took control after Bridget passed away in 2007 at the age of 91 (according to the Daily Mail), and as a result, she lost interest in singing altogether. Boyle explained his decision to stop singing to The Sunday Times by saying, “I was left really upset because of the bereavement I had, and I decided to give up singing.” It would be another two years before she would perform again in front of an audience.
