20 Everyday inventions introduced at historic World’s Fairs

In 1964, the Picturephone introduced the idea of seeing the person on the other end of a call. Demonstrated at the New York World’s Fair, it combined video and audio communication. The technology faced limitations in cost and infrastructure, preventing widespread adoption at the time. Even so, it foreshadowed the video calls that are now commonplace.
