The expansion Minnesota Timberwolves entered the NBA in 1989-90 and finished 22-60 during a difficult debut season. Tony Campbell scored heavily, but the roster lacked experience and consistent talent. Expansion teams often struggled during that era, and Minnesota spent much of the early 1990s near the bottom of the Western Conference standings.
