Architectural splendor
Taking images of strange objects can sometimes be unexpected. When Ralph Hardy took this photograph, he thought he was merely capturing the beauty of this flight of steps.
He didn’t realize there was something distinctive in front of him until he built up the image. The steps can be located at the National Maritime Museum in London, where they were presumably treasured by another person. Ralph convinced himself right away that he had seen a phantom clinging to the railings, and that he wasn’t the only one.
