In the past, motels offered accessible lodgings and comfort to individuals and families needing temporary accommodations while traveling. Everything has time to shine before everyone moves on to the next best thing. Most of these sites have been abandoned and closed. So, what has happened to them? Have they been left in ruins, or are they still standing as they used to? There’s a page on Instagram called Dead Motels USA that gives life to these once-famous motels. This piece celebrates 44 “dead” motels. Here’s an article for you if you love historic architecture and drastic before and afters.
