#26: Vintage Bar Cabinets
During the 1970s, bar cabinets were a staple in homes, merging the era’s love for wood decor with the enjoyment of spirits, and were available at retailers like Ashley Furniture and Walmart, priced between $100-$1,000. Designed for social gatherings, these compact cabinets featured unique butterfly door shelves, specifically aimed at storing a wide array of alcohol.
The 70s bar cabinet was incomplete without classics like Party Seven, Watney’s Red Barrel, and the era’s popular branded lagers and wines such as Black Tower, Blue Nun, and Mateus Rose. These beverages were emblematic of the period’s shift towards branded alcoholic drinks, making them essential stock for any well-curated liquor cabinet of the time.
