We’re here today to explore some of the biggest unsolved mysteries in human history.
#1: The Circleville Letters
In 1976, residents of a small city near Columbus, Ohio, were unsettled by detailed handwritten letters revealing intimate knowledge of their lives. Mary and Ron Gillispie were the primary targets, receiving ominous letters claiming they were being closely watched. The situation escalated in 1977 when Ron was found dead in his truck after allegedly receiving a call from the letter writer.
The harassment continued with threatening road signs; in one instance in 1983, Mary narrowly escaped harm while trying to remove a booby-trapped sign. An investigation led to the conviction of Mary’s brother-in-law, who was sentenced to 25 years behind bars. Despite his incarceration, the mysterious letters persisted, tormenting recipients until 1994, leaving the true identity of the letter writer and their motives shrouded in mystery.
