#22: The Georgia Guidestones
The Georgia Guidestones, erected in 1980 in Elbert County, Georgia, USA, was designed as a guide for future inhabitants of Earth in the aftermath of potential catastrophes. Dubbed “America’s Stonehenge,” these stones were inscribed with guidelines for rebuilding civilization. That’s pretty ominous!

However, on July 6, 2020, a mysterious explosion destroyed the monument. Despite available footage, the incident left little evidence for authorities to work with, and the investigation into the destruction has seen little progress. The motive and the perpetrator behind this act remain unknown, adding a layer of intrigue to the already mysterious existence of the Guidestones and their intended message for a post-apocalyptic world.
