Are you searching for the best places to go on a backpacking trip this year? If yes, then you’ve come to the right place. We’re featuring some of the best places from all over the world that will work as a backpacking trip for anyone who loves going backpacking.

Kalalau Trail, Na Pali Coast, Hawaii, USA

This is a 22 mile roundtrip backpacking adventure in Hawaii. The perfect backpacking trip for anyone searching for a short 3 day vacation out in the wilderness. The trail is rated moderate, and there’s a remoteness feel with it as you climb the trail with friends.

Long Range Traverse, Newfoundland, Canada

Another 22-mile hike from start to finish, this Long Range Traverse trail in Newfoundland is an excellent way to enjoy your Canadian vacation with backpacks. The elevation of this climb is 2300 feet, so be sure to pack accordingly and be prepared.  This is a 4-5 day trek.

Rim to Rim, Grand Canyon National Park, Arizona, USA

This strenuous hike is a 24 mile hike from point to point and is estimated to take 3-4 days. There’s a 5,000 feet elevation gain with a 5,500 feet elevation loss. You will need a permit to stay overnight in this nation park, so be sure to look into the trip requirements before packing your bags to head out there.

Coyote Gulch, Glen Canyon National Recreation Area, Utah, USA

This is a 26 mile hike that’s rated moderate and is completed within 3- days. The Coyote Gulch in Utah is a sight to see and will provide you with ample fun while you’re on your backpacking trip. Much like many of the other parks, you’ll need to look into permits and such for any overnight stays.

Cordillera Huayhuash, Peru

This can be a really long trip for anyone out there looking to go backpacking. The strenuous hike is 36 miles roundtrip but can be up to 81 miles roundtrip, depending on which trail you trek up. The elevation gain is 15000 feet, and this trip will take you about 7-14 days to complete.

Copper Ridge Loop, North Cascades National Park, Washington, USA

Another strenuous hike for those experienced backpackers is this Copper Ridge Loop in Washington state. The elevation gain is 8600 feet and you’ll need about 4-5 days to complete this trek. There is much beauty to experience while you’re out on this loop trail for sure!
