The statistics are not deceptive
Domestic violence affects about ten million men and women in the United States each year. And this is a significant number. When you break it down, one in every three women in the United States (35.6%) has experienced physical abuse, rape, or stalking from an intimate relationship at some point in their lives.
If you haven’t been abused, you could think to yourself, “Well, why don’t you just leave?” It’s a question that abused people ask themselves, yet the reasons for staying in an abusive relationship aren’t straightforward.
