
Like most things in life, the content we consume on TV has changed over the course of time. The shows that were popular forty or fifty years ago wouldn’t necessarily have had the same impact had they been released today, and vice versa. We’re here today to take a look at some of the most popular TV shows from the 1950s, 60s and 70s, and examine the impact they’ve had on TV today or how different they are from what we see on our screens today.
#1: The George Burns and Gracie Allen Show, 1950
The Burns and Allen Show (familiarly) was a 1950s sitcom that aired from 1950 to 1958 on CBS. Starring the titular George Burns and Gracie Allen, the duo performed different bits and comedy sketches in every half-hour episode on stage with an audience.
