Later that day
John had most of the day to himself at home, where all he could think about was Donna and the betrayal he felt. When it was time for the kids to come back from school, he acted like everything was okay and made them something to eat as they did their homework.
But when Donna came home late that day, he didn’t immediately confront her. He was too nervous that maybe it wasn’t what it seemed and that he was mistaken. He couldn’t just throw an accusation like this at his wife of eighteen years. It would have serious consequences for their future together.
