#5: A Suspicious Call
There are times when medical professionals know that there is more to a story than someone lets on. However, ER employees are not cops, so they don’t ask or tell. This storyteller once received a call about a deceased person who was found in their home. The thing was, the person who called it in lived 20 miles away, didn’t know the deceased person, and didn’t know the exact address.
In addition to all of those red flags, the anonymous caller made this phone call at 4 in the morning. This anonymous caller was obviously up to no good. The body had been undiscovered in the house for a few weeks, so our storyteller doesn’t think this caller was a murderer or anything like that. They have a sneaking suspicion that the mysterious caller was a burglar who discovered a body inside a home they were trying to rob.
