Frightening Father-in-law
Recent polls show that around 1 in 10 people have experienced abuse from an in-law. That’s a lot of toxic family dynamics! I think it’s important to set boundaries and stand up for yourself when dealing with abusive behavior, even if it means having some uncomfortable conversations with your spouse or their family.
But let’s not forget to add a little humor to the situation – laughter is the best medicine. Plus, there’s always therapy (or a good bottle of wine) to help you cope. Or you could not invite him to your Thanksgiving dinner – that could be a good way to avoid any more of this abuse.
