We’ve all heard the phrase: “They don’t make them like they used to!” While this is undoubtedly true for most items these days, I still think quite a few are glitches in the matrix. Each item on this list has a story behind it and has lasted far longer than people thought it would. People took to the Internet to share their household items from years ago, which turned out to be investments in their lives. Who knows, maybe you, too, have some treasured items lying around in your garage that you’ve forgotten all about.
#1: The Never-Ending Lunch Box
If you’ve ever owned Stanley, you know it lasts forever. The owner of these did some research after purchasing and found that the lunch box is from ‘89, and the thermos is from ‘97. The one I own is from 2011, in classic black, and it’s still trucking along nicely as well.
While I can’t say that I love the aesthetic of these vintage pieces, they win hands-down in a contest against 95% of the lunchware available on the market today. You might own a few of their tools if you recognize the name. They’re the parent company of Black and Decker! No wonder all their thermoses are so phenomenal.
