#45: Curmudgeonly Ghosts
The internet loves analyzing events and thoughts at lightning speed, but most of it isn’t about Gen X. This doesn’t seem to bother most Gen Xers. In fact, they prefer being ignored by other generations. Emily Nussbaum shared her feelings about the whole thing on, where else, the internet. She said that she enjoys this “new thing where Gen X doesn’t exist in any generational analysis.”
But is it really a “new thing” if Gen X has always been kind of forgotten? Gen X were latchkey kids growing up, and now they’re going about their lives minding their own business. Emily calling herself and the rest of Gen X “gloomy curmudgeonly ghosts” isn’t too far off when it comes to the online analysis of other generations. Gen X likes to stay in its lane.
