Cory had to learn from a young age how to ignore people who looked at him funny or made jokes at his expense. He was always dressed in some strange clothing that usually wasn’t matching, but it made him feel good on the inside, which is what was most important for him.
As long as Cory was happy, he had the right to dress and look just about however he wanted to. That is a right that all of us have as individuals. The only thing stopping us from wearing just about anything at all is public pressure and social norms that we need to follow.
