#9: Family Feud (1976)
“Survey says…!” Few phrases are as inextricably tied to a game show as these two words are to Family Feud, the show that turned family feuds into family entertainment. First airing in 1976, the goal of the game was to guess the most common answers to questions posed in a survey. To make things even more interesting, the show pitted two families against each other, with each one trying to outguess the other to win the money.
The fun of Family Feud is that it keeps things simple and the unscripted, often ridiculous, answers contestants would give take care of the rest. If you were rooting for a family, or were just along for the ride, Family Feud was a hit. It’s still a hit today, proving that family drama—when it’s all lighthearted in nature—never gets old.
