A True Hero
I get worried whenever I see a child near the road. They may know to look both ways by 7 or 8, but they haven’t quite learned how to listen for cars that might not be in view yet. I’m not suggesting that a kid that age can’t cross the street alone, but I still keep an eye out, just in case. Thank goodness I’m not the only one!
This child hopefully learned that it’s always important to take an extra moment before proceeding. Drivers often fail to see people, especially children, and I don’t believe this happened at a crosswalk. I wait until the crosswalk light blinks and all cars have come to a complete stop before taking my first step out. You can never be too careful with the type of people who are driving on the roadways.
