Why this was a miracle
After that intense medical explanation, we will now shed some light on just why this was an incredibly rare case. Usually, in similar circumstances, the puppy would have unfortunately and tragically died. This is because defects around the placenta can block and disrupt crucial oxygen and other nutrients from reaching the fetus.
Needless to say, this little pup was one lucky dog, not only because Rio was its mother, but because it was alive and well. There was a high chance that other dangerous substances could have leaked inside the placenta and killed it, but thankfully it was just Biliverdin and its green pigmentation.
