#1: Carpeted Kitchens
Whoever thought putting carpeting in kitchens was a good idea either never had kids or never prepared a meal at home! True, most of the kitchen carpets of the 1970s had low, tightly woven fibers, like Berber, but you could find thick shag in kitchens, too. The remains of every glass of spilled milk lived on in the carpet fibers and padding forever.
