Nothing Is Cool
The OP gives us a glimpse into the minds of rich kids. They received a scholarship to go to a fancy private school, which was filled with rich kids all over campus. Apparently, these people will judge others based on what their parents do. So, their parent’s accomplishments are what determine how high they are on the social ladder, if that even makes sense.
What a weird way to view the world. What if your father was Pablo Escobar? He made a killing by doing incredibly immoral things, but he could afford to get his daughter a private jet if he wanted. You’d probably be the coolest kid on the rich-kid block if Pablo was your dad.
