For decades, television shows have delighted us and provided us with funny moments as well as sad or heartfelt ones. We’ve made fictional friends that could last a lifetime from the comfort of our homes. But stories are imperfect by nature, and even some of our most beloved shows can age poorly over time. Let’s take a look at some of those shows that haven’t exactly aged like fine wine.
#1: Baywatch
The lifeguard-focused Baywatch, the 1989 series that made career highlights for actors like David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson, lasted for 11 successful seasons. Although it was a drama, the laughable slow-motion running sequences have been parodied time and again since the show premiered. Yet, that’s not why it made this list.
One of the main criticisms of the series is that it objectified women like Pamela Anderson and Yasmine Bleeth’s characters. That’s partly because of their wardrobes and focusing on their bodies, but largely because of the lack of character development—which was an issue for pretty much all characters on the show.
