#6: Californication
As the name implies, Californication has a lot of adult themes in it. Novelist Hank Moody, portrayed by David Duchovny, has to split his time between his partying and womanizing tendencies and raising his daughter. This Showtime series ran for seven seasons and is still considered generally good screenwriting.
However, the rampant relations and need for shock value made the show age poorly over time. Viewers say that Moody’s lack of character development and misogynistic tendencies make the show difficult to watch. I’m pretty sure that was true back in the day as well.
