The very essence of customer service is to be of service to customers. This service extends to a bunch of different things that the customers themselves need in order to have a pleasant shopping experience. Which can be frustrating for an employee to have to stand by.
Especially when a customer realizes they forgot their wallet in the car and have to go and get it – leaving a long line behind them. The whole situation is just awkward with you waiting forever, feeling like you have aged 10 years and the other customers waiting impatiently.
