#19: The Bee Gees – “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart”
In 1969, the Bee Gees had a feud that led singer Robin Gibb to quit the band. Barry and Maurice Gibb released an album on their own, but afterward, they decided to go their separate ways, too. It looked like the Bee Gees were done for good. Then, after almost a year, Robin decided to make amends — and they wrote “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart.”
After “How Can You Mend a Broken Heart,” the Bee Gees continued performing together until Maurice passed away in 2003. The popular band’s 45-year history may have looked different if it hadn’t been for this song, which isn’t even their most memorable song.
