#27: Sugar Crystals
Most of us know what sugar cubes look like under a microscope, so this image probably isn’t too surprising. Sugar crystals look an awful lot like ice cubes or mysterious, larger-than-life cave crystals. Their shape and color are absolutely beautiful. Of course, household sugar is way too small for us to see its true structure without the extreme magnification of a microscope.
You may be wondering what that random brown speck is in the upper right corner. That’s a piece of ground coffee! It seems pretty fitting that coffee made an appearance in this microscopic photo, considering that many of us add sugar to our morning brew every morning. Next time you add some sugar, just imagine pouring tiny clear crystals into your cup. Pretty magical!
