#14: Coca-Cola Under a Microscope
A regular 12-ounce can of Coca-Cola contains 39 grams of sugar. Love it or hate it, we can all admit that’s a huge amount of sugar. But what does it look like under a microscope? Turns out it looks pretty cool. This polarized microscope image shows what Coca-Cola looks like when it’s crystallized.
If you’ve ever spilled Coca-Cola on something, you know that it gets pretty sticky when it dries. This is the microscopic version of that. This colorful version of Coke shows a sucrose crystal up close and personal. Soda might not be the healthiest drink out there, but it sure looks pretty.
