#41: A Pencil’s Tip
Under the lens of a microscope, a pencil tip reveals a microcosm of intricate details. At a closer glance, the graphite core, responsible for marking paper, unveils its structure resembling countless layers stacked upon each other. The layers, consisting of thin, parallel sheets, impart a metallic luster. Adjacent to the graphite, the wooden casing reveals a network of fibers, interlaced and tightly packed.
These fibers offer stability and durability to the pencil. Tiny irregularities and imperfections can be observed, showcasing the unique character of each pencil. Occasionally, fragments of eraser residue may be visible, adding a touch of color to the microscopic landscape.
