How Samuel Felt About Growing Up Fatherless
In the letter, Shirley told Tony that their son, Samuel, had asked on numerous occasions where his father was. She explained in the letter that she had no more excuses to give Samuel and that Tony should do the right thing and reach out to his son. He ultimately did do the right thing, though it took him 50 years before he knew what the right thing was.
From how Shirley described their son, she was confident that he was the father. Gray eyes and black hair were pretty much Tony’s defining features as well, so even he was more than sure that this mysterious person must’ve been his kin.
