This Bird is Ready to Pounce
“If you don’t hunt in the jungle, you will be hunted.” Life is difficult enough as it is, but in the animal kingdom, this statement couldn’t be more accurate. To increase their chances of survival, many animals have perfected their hunting skills over time. The osprey pictured here is preparing to capture its next meal – an unsuspecting fish. This image perfectly illustrates the Darwinian law of ‘survival of the fittest.’
The Osprey also called the sea hawk, is a bird of prey that lives all over the world and primarily eats fish. Grown Ospreys reach more than 60cm in length with a wingspan of 180cm—I wouldn’t want to be caught by this thing if I were small fry!
