#45: What’s Wrong with Beethoven?
From the price tag, I’m going to have to assume this piano is for sale in a store. I honestly can’t blame the sellers, as nearly everyone who has ever touched a piano can play Fur Elise. It’s seriously the only song I know. I can just imagine how many times people sat down and decided to play that one song to show off their skills.
Beethoven wrote Fur Elise in 1810. According to prepscholar.com, once he wrote it, he promptly set it to the side and never played it again. It wasn’t until 1867, when it was discovered by someone going through his drafts, that it was copied and sent out all over the world. It’s one of the most well-known musical pieces in existence! The poor people working there are probably sick of hearing the song.
