Staples to the Rescue
If this wire wasn’t chewed up by pesky rodents, it’s been damaged by an office supply accident. Cables may be stowed away neatly on the wall to prevent tripping and to keep workspaces nice and organized. However, using a common household stapler to fasten cables to a wall is a big no-no.
There are particular cable staplers on the market if you need to secure your cables to the wall. The staples are not made of metal, and they’re not supposed to puncture the surface of the cable in the first place. There was no salvaging this chewed-up cable—the owner had to buy a new one.
