A couple in Rome decided to leave a mark on the Colosseum
When it comes to attractions, Italy is rich in history and historical landmarks that we can all appreciate. In 2015, a California couple decided to visit the Colosseum in Rome, Italy. They were pleased, but not satisfied with simply viewing the Colosseum. As a result, they decided to cut their initials into the Colosseum’s wall and then take a photo with it. It left a bad taste in the lips of the majority of Italians.
Worse, when questioned if cutting their initials into a 2,000-year-old landmark was a big thing, they said they didn’t believe it was that big of an issue. The good news is that they were both charged with severe damage to a historically and artistically significant structure.
