Wake Up During Takeoff and Landing
Immediately after planting your behind in your airplane seat, you’ll probably be tempted to catch up on some much-needed sleep. However, we recommend you delay your nap schedule until at least after takeoff. Only go to sleep when your plane has already reached maximum altitude.
You see, your body is more susceptible to dramatic changes in air pressure when you’re not conscious. So, if you’re fast asleep when the plane is taking off, your ears may pop violently, leaving you partially deaf for several hours. You can combat this by staying awake and drinking plenty of water or chewing gum until you’re miles high in the sky.
