#23: Maurice LaMarche – Yosemite Sam
With his deep, gravelly voice, which seems perfect for ominous characters, Maurice LaMarche portrays Yosemite Sam in modern Looney Tunes productions. With an exaggerated southern accent this character is most recognized for, we’d say Maurice does a great job at capturing the essence of this cartoon character.
Yosemite Sam is Bugs Bunny’s memorable nemesis, and LaMarche brings an authentic feel to both the character’s personality and the style used by the original voice actor Mel Blanc (yes, the same one who voiced Bugs Bunny). Today, Maurice is a staple in voice acting, having played an extensive list of characters, including The Brain in Pinky and the Brain (1995–1998) and Calculon in Futurama (1999–2013).
