Not So Little Mermaid
I don’t think we have ever thought about the actual dimensions of Disney characters before, have you? When this Twitter user points out the inaccuracy with the title and her name, it got us thinking about other Disney characters. In the fan world, Ariel is meant to be 5 feet and 7 inches, which is far from little. So why is there such an emphasis on calling her little?
This guy makes a funny (and incredibly accurate) tweet about talking to his therapist about problems he has in his life, referring to Ariel’s height as a serious issue. And we’re glad that he was finally able to speak about this extra thing weighing on him. Perhaps the writers wanted to keep it light and friendly? The Tall Mermaid has less of a ring to it, I guess.
