Alexis Sanchez – Before
Chilean soccer player Alexis Sanchez had a pretty rough childhood. His father was jobless, while his mother ran a small-scale business as a horticulturist. However, due to the shame of not being able to provide for his family, Alexis’ father deserted the family, forcing Alexis’ mother to work multiple jobs to support him and his two sisters.
Despite her greatest efforts to provide for their small family, his mother was struggling. That’s when Alexis’ uncle came to relieve her burden by taking the young boy and registering him in a youth football academy, where he excelled. After just one year playing for the Cobreloa youth club, Serie A club Udinese caught wind of the child and paid £1.7 million to sign him.
