Root Bridges (India)
It’s difficult to distinguish this bridge differently from the rest of the trees from the other side of the river. The reason for this is that it was never actually built in the first place.
The natural materials found in the forest were used to construct the bridge. The tangled roots of the Ficus elastica tree were structured in such a way that they formed nature’s own bridge. It was the War-Khasis and War-Jainty tribes that first learned how to control the roots of trees, which allowed them to construct these magnificent crossings.
