I’m Right There with You
To be honest, I think the name “almond milk” is just a marketing ploy to make it sound more appetizing. It’s basically nut juice. If it were any other fruit or vegetable juice, we wouldn’t call it “milk.” For example, we don’t say “apple milk.” But don’t worry, not everyone is against almond milk! Though I have to admit that I only drink cow’s milk. The other seven types of mammal kinds of milk aren’t really my thing.
On the other hand, the almond milk industry is rife with problems. It’s been said that it takes 1.1 gallons of water to make a single almond and that it takes anywhere from 35 to 200 almonds to produce a gallon of almond milk. Something doesn’t appear to be adding up here. You might as well drink water and eat a few almonds on the side rather than using this product.
