Ah, summertime. Time for vacation, for rest and relaxation, and for everyone’s favorite breezy, sand-filled destination – the beach. Wherein you can get your tan on, surf the ocean waves, construct sandcastles … and fail. The beach is the place where ‘fails’ of all kinds are just waiting to happen. Many of us have spent a lot of time on the beach this past year (there wasn’t much else to do), so Jimmy Fallon, in very Jimmy fashion, took to Twitter to challenge his followers to share their weirdest beach moments. As always, they provided us with humorous and unique beach tales. May they serve as a warning.
Trash Shark
Discarded trash bags, if concealed properly, can definitely resemble sharks. Right? Right! This Twitter user agrees. According to him, on one pleasant beach outing, he felt something graze his foot, looked down to see a black mass in the water. His Shark Week instincts kicked in and he yelled, “shark”, probably causing alarm all throughout the beach.
Unfortunately, this potential shark-attack-turned-plastic-bag-reveal culminated in a twisted ankle and a bruised ego. But hey – that’s life. Sometimes you come out on top, other times you fall face-first into the water while trying to outrun a nefarious trash bag. We’ve all been there, so, um … no need for embarrassment.
