Carla Bruni Then
Italian-French supermodel Carla Bruni started her career in the late 1980s. She signed with City Models when she was just 19 years old and was chosen to model for Estelle Lefébure for Guess. Not long after, she’d find work modeling for Yves Saint-Laurent, Chanel, and Versace.
The 1990s were incredibly kind to her. She ranked among the highest-earning supermodels in the world after taking home over $7.5 million in a single year. Like Heidi Klum, Carla collaborated with Joanne Gair and modeled for her second book titled Body Painting: Masterpieces by Joanne Gair. 1996 was her final year in the fashion world, and she decided to devote her life to music instead.
